The people running it

The people steering this Foundation come from the rooms where the work actually happens. They didn’t lend their names. They live the work.

Marc Weintraub

Founder

Marc Weintraub built his first company from nothing. Over thirteen years in Los Angeles, he and a business partner grew an entertainment company into one of the best in the city. Then he spent fifteen years in private banking and wealth management, living inside the systems that decide who gets trusted and why.

Two careers, one lesson. Nothing counts until it’s proven.

Marc trains every day. Three marathons, the most recent the 2026 LA Marathon. He’s been a UFC and boxing fan for decades. When he came back to Venice Beach, where he started, he stepped in himself, jiu-jitsu at Gracie Originals, boxing at JFM, to understand what fighters pay on the way to the top. And he walked back into Gold’s Gym on Hampton Drive, the same gym that’s been there since 1965. That’s where Performance Equity started, standing in a gym after a hard session, realizing an hour of real effort left no record anywhere, and neither did the years of climbing that athletes put in before anyone paid attention.

He founded the Foundation to close that gap. Backing for anyone willing to do the work. In his words: effort is opportunity, and it should count for something. This is my truth. This is my why. This is my life’s dissertation.

Richard Salgado

Secretary

Richard Salgado has spent thirty years in the fight game. A Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and a lifelong practitioner and coach across jiu-jitsu and boxing, he’s trained alongside some of the most respected names in the sport. He trained at Gracie Originals Jiu Jitsu Academy in Santa Monica, where he first put Marc on the mats. Today he runs his own academy in New Mexico.

He’s also one of Marc’s oldest friends, going back over twenty years. When Marc came back to train, Richard was on the mat.

Richard brings deep relationship capital across sports, business, and athlete support, with a long track record of connecting people to the right rooms.

Richard knows exactly who this Foundation is for. He’s spent his life around fighters on the climb, the ones grinding through the years before anyone knows their name. He brings the thing you can’t manufacture. A life spent showing up, and demanding the same of everyone he’s trained. That’s the standard the Foundation is built to honor.

Jordan Muir in front of a heavy bag at JFM Boxing Club

Jordan Muir

Treasurer

Jordan Muir owns JFM Boxing Club in Venice and has built his life around the discipline of the sport. A certified trainer, he’s spent years teaching people that the work is the work, and there are no shortcuts to it. His gym is one of the community sites where the Foundation’s mission comes to life.

Jordan coaches the way the Foundation thinks. Show up, put in the rounds, and the results take care of themselves. He’s watched hundreds of people walk through his door and change their lives one session at a time, and he’s watched fighters carry the cost of the climb on their own backs. He believes deeply that effort deserves to count, and to be backed.

As Treasurer, Jordan brings the steady hand that keeps a young charity honest and accountable. He knows the value of every dollar and every rep, and he holds both to the same standard.

James Turowski in a suit and tie

James Turowski

Director

James Turowski and Marc go back to the beginning. The two built an entertainment company together in Los Angeles from the ground up. No shortcuts, just knocking on doors until it became one of the best in the city. That was more than two decades ago, and to this day James remains one of the most respected entertainment company owners in Los Angeles. And he’s been in Marc’s corner the whole way.

He’s a builder who knows what it takes to make something real, and he’s watched Marc do it more than once. That long view is exactly what this Foundation needs. Someone who has seen the whole arc, who knows the founder’s character across good years and hard ones, and who signed on because he believes in the mission and the man behind it.

James is also a highly respected yoga practitioner and teacher, known through the CorePower Yoga community, with international teaching experience that includes Bali. His practice reflects discipline, presence, and a lifelong commitment to helping people reconnect with their bodies and themselves.

As Director, James brings business judgment and a memory that stretches across everything Marc has built. Performance Equity is the natural next thing for a person who has spent his life building.

Advisors

The Foundation is backed by a growing group of advisors who lend their judgment, their craft, and their time. Coaches, builders, and creative and technical professionals who believe effort should count and put their skills behind it. Advisors guide the work. They aren’t board appointments, and the group is meant to stay flexible, so the right people can help in the ways they’re best suited to.

Digital & Creative Advisors support the Foundation’s storytelling, design, and outreach, so the mission reaches the people it’s built for.
